First time using BPC-157 for shoulder recovery

After dealing with a nagging rotator cuff injury for over a year, my doctor finally cleared me to start a BPC-157 protocol (250mcg SubQ 2x daily). I’m only on day 4, so I know it’s early, but I’m feeling a bit of localized tenderness at the injection site. Is this normal? I’m using bacteriostatic water and following sterile procedures, but the sting is a bit more than I expected. I’m really hoping this helps with the inflammation so I can get back to overhead pressing. It’s such a relief to be able to get this through a legitimate pharmacy now that the Category 2 restrictions have been lifted for these types of compounds. Has anyone else experienced this kind of site reaction, and does it usually subside after the first week? I’m committed to the protocol, but I’d love some reassurance that I’m not doing something wrong.

Welcome to the community! It is very common to experience mild stinging or localized tenderness at the injection site, especially with BPC-157. Since you are using bacteriostatic water, ensure the solution has reached room temperature before injecting, as cold liquid can cause a sharper sting. Also, verify that your injection depth is consistent; sometimes, if the solution is too close to the surface or if you are not fully rotating your sites, the tissue can become irritated. Mechanically, BPC-157 works by upregulating growth factor receptors like VEGFR2 to promote angiogenesis, which is excellent for rotator cuff healing, but it can occasionally cause localized inflammation while the repair process ramps up. Always double-check your needle gauge—30g or 31g insulin syringes are standard to minimize discomfort. Since this is not medical advice, keep monitoring for any signs of actual infection like spreading redness or heat. Hang in there; many users find the repair benefits start becoming noticeable around weeks two or three. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a safe return to overhead pressing!
